Aspen & Snowmass are surrounded by the pristine White River National Forest Elk Mountain Range. Here you will find some of the finest powder snow in the winter. Check out the following activities to play outside or indoors surrounded by the beautiful winter wonderland.

Aspen Expeditions

Come on an 'out-of bounds' lift accessed ski descent or backcountry ski tour in untracked powder snow! Aspen Expeditions' IFMGA/AMGA formally trained and/or certified mountain guides have been teaching & guiding backcountry ski tours, avalanche courses, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, hut to hut ski trips, rock climbing, 14,000' peak climbs, and alpine mountaineering since 1976. AE has Alpine Touring equipment for rent and a small selection of mountain gear. Aspen Expeditions offers both Aspen based & worldwide adventures. It is owned and operated by internationally certified IFMGA/AMGA mountain guide Dick Jackson. Aspen Expeditions is an authorized permittee of the White River National Forest in Aspen, CO.

In the winter, we fly off of both Aspen Mountain (Ajax) and Snowmass Mountain. Our pilots will meet you on the mountain. We recommend you schedule your flight time early on during your vacation in Aspen or Snowmass.... just in case we need to reschedule due to weather.
